This short course will introduce you to the principles of mediation and provide you with opportunities to reflect and practice these skills, as well as understanding where to apply them.
We are excited to partner with Brap (www.brap.org.uk) an Equalities and Human Rights Charity, to bring you this Introduction to Mediation Short Course Masterclass. This course is CPD accredited and upon completion you will receive 5 CPD points.
This short course will introduce you to the principles of mediation and provide you with opportunities to reflect and practice these skills, as well as understanding where to apply them. It will help you to understand points of escalation and how spotting these can be key to maintaining professional and productive relationships at work.
The course has been designed and is run by Joy Warmington and Roger Kline. Joy Warmington, is the CEO of Brap, and is trained in Mediation and Process Orientated Psychology. Her organisation practically supports inclusive culture building and is frequently called upon to actively intervene in conflict and disputes. Roger has a background as a Trade Union Officer with eight different unions over 25 years and is now a Research Fellow at Middlesex University Business School specialising in workplace culture in the public sector. Roger frequently collaborates with Brap on a range of topics.
On average, the course should take you between 6 to 8 hours to complete. There are 4 Modules to complete and a course introduction video with pre-reading tasks; which need to be completed before starting the modules. There is also a handout for your reference as you work your way through the course; and to refer to in the future.
At the end of each module, you will be asked to complete a homework task to solidify your learning. Upon completion of of the course you will receive a digital certificate of completion*, for you to save and print at your convenience.
