The Social Care Innovators is a group for people keen to bring change and innovation to the social care sector.Â
We believe that working together with a shared aim we will be able to influence lasting changes to social care.Â
We have already achieved some great outcomes with the Green Heart For Social Care Initiative, The Care Library, and our People Plan for Social Care.
The group is chaired by Sue Jones Director of social care for the Institute of Health and Social Care (IHSCM) and Palvi Dodhia, COO Serene Care and IHSCM member.
The main group meets bi-monthly but we also have 7 subgroups that focus on their own specific areas that meet monthly.Â
Chairs: Palvi Dodhia (Directer of Serene Care) and Sue Jones, Director for Social Care, IHSCM.
This group split from our former Frail, Older Care and Dementia SIG. Our focus is looking at pathways, caring at different stages, how to support and improve dementia throughout, supporting people, diversity, and learning from people with lived experience.
Chair: Donna Little (Advanced Clinical Practitioner at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust)Â

(combined meeting with the Living with Conditions and Frailty SIG)
At the IHSCM we are privileged to have members who between them have many years of experience, knowledge and resources. Many of these members may now be retired from working within health and social care, but still wish to connect with like-minded people on a regular basis via a Special Interest Group (SIG).
The Retired Members SIG will work together to hold conferences, webinars, workshops, masterclasses and podcasts to impart their expertise not only to their retired colleagues but also to newer members wishing to learn from this vast collection of expertise and knowledge.
Chair: John Glynn, Retired IHSCM Member and former Legal Services Manager, Corporate Affairs & Governance Directorate, East Cheshire Trust, Macclesfield.
