I am a chartered member of one of the oldest human resource management societies in the world, which is called The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). I often get asked various questions about it so here I am going to explore the 3 most asked questions about my charterdship with the CIPD.
Why have I chosen to pursue the charterdship
As leaders, we need to better equip ourselves with tools that will help us to lead and manage our team effectively. After 109 years of directing and shaping the HRM industry, CIPD is the gold standard within the human management sector. I have already gained a lot of experience and knowledge but I wanted to channel my knowledge and skill to do good for the HRM field, and gaining a charterdship with CIPD was just that. Lastly, we all know our capabilities but it’s nice to get the seal of approval from your fellow hrm practitioners and community. After all, we cannot work and develop in silos but we need to collaborate and work together as only then we can make the big changes. My charterdship with the CIPD society allows me to do this and much more.
How has my charterdship with CIPD helped me
Charterdship with CIPD allows you to be in contact with all other hrm professionals from various companies and geographical locations. It is a melting pot of ideas, views, and sharing of business practices as well as various key research publications. It has helped me immensely by having access to all these sources of information. The CIPD conference allows you to hear from key individuals within the HRM industry. All these have helped me to learn, educate others and build a network for research where I can add to the knowledge of the HRM Body, my current doctoral research is doing just that. I am also able to start up my HRM consultancy as my charterdship gives my customers proof of recognition that my customers will be receiving quality effective service.
How can being involved with CIPD help you
If you are a leader, manager, or just a team member who is interested to know more about people management, then being involved with CIPD will greatly help you. You will not only learn but also help you to be a better leader, manager, and team member, it would allow you to understand the various aspects of HRM and the reasons behind it all. The more you know the better decisions you can take ultimately this will make a positive difference to your service users, and your colleagues, and will you give self-satisfaction, that you are doing your bits in the grand scheme of the HRM world.
In conclusion
As I keep saying there is no end to learning and the more we learn the better we become at our job. So get out there and explore the various options which CIPD offers. I hope you have found this beneficial.
