We are excited to be bringing this Greener Care Short Course in conjunction with our partners Improvement, Care and Compassion, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and Autumna, and including contributions from many of our members and important perspectives from patients, manufacturing and third sector partners.
This course is aimed at all staff within health and social care who wish to improve their understanding of environmental issues and is designed to equip members with knowledge of both the basic scientific facts, and how the actions that we take at home and at work impact on climate change and the health of the planet.
The course will demystify some of the bewildering language and help you to understand what action you can take to support a more sustainable future. It will also help you feel confident to be able to have meaningful conversations, as a trusted health and care worker, about the impact of health and care about issues impacting on the environment and the positive actions that we can easily start to take.
The course is divided into 5 modules with between 20- and 30 minutes of content, associated home learning opportunities and links to other materials. There is a learning log for you to make notes as you study and at the end of every module you will find a short quiz which you can take as many times as you need to complete it successfully.
These modules are :
- Introduction to the triple planetary crisis
- Climate change
- Pollution
- Biodiversity loss
- A call to action to support planetary health
Upon completion of the course, you will receive a digital certificate of completion for you to save, and print at your convenience.
