Meals on Wheels UK project at the University of Bristol
We have now published a new UK-wide report on Meals on Wheels service provision, predicted demand, and unmet need across all 374 local authority districts.
This is the first time that Meals on Wheels provision and population-level indicators of likely need have been mapped concurrently at a national level across the UK.
The findings provide a clearer national picture of how services are currently distributed and where there may be opportunities to strengthen community-based support.
The report highlights variation in provision and identifies areas where services may not align with projected demand.
The report is free to access via the University of Bristol licensing platform:
(a short registration is required to download)
A recording of the webinar launching the report is also available here:
We hope the findings are helpful in informing service development, partnership working, and future collaboration across local government, NHS services and Meals on Wheels providers.
