IHSCM and SEHTA Announce Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Innovation, Leadership and Collaboration Across Health and Social Care

The Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM) and the Science and Engineering Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA) are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership designed to strengthen leadership capability, accelerate innovation, and support organisations across the health and social care ecosystem.

This collaboration brings together two influential networks with shared values and complementary strengths: IHSCM’s national community of leaders, managers, and practitioners, and SEHTA’s global network of innovators, academics, and health technology specialists.

About IHSCM

The Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM) is the UK’s leading independent membership organisation for managers and leaders across health and social care. With a diverse and rapidly growing membership spanning the NHS, social care, voluntary organisations, private providers, and academia, IHSCM is dedicated to improving the quality, experience, and sustainability of care.

IHSCM supports members through leadership development programmes, specialist networks, policy insight, events, training, and resources that promote compassionate, inclusive, and effective management. Its mission is to empower leaders at every level to deliver high-quality, person-centred care and strengthen the resilience of the health and care workforce.

About SEHTA

Science and Engineering Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA) is a global networking organisation with more than 1,200 members dedicated to transforming healthcare through innovation. Founded in 2005 to support small healthcare businesses, SEHTA has grown into one of the largest networks connecting academia, industry, and care professionals.

SEHTA accelerates the journey from concept to commercialisation through one-to-one business support, workshops, training, specialist events, and its annual International MedTech Expo & Conference. Its extensive real-world experience and innovation network help organisations scale and deliver meaningful improvements for patients and service users.

By combining IHSCM’s leadership expertise with SEHTA’s innovation ecosystem, the partnership will create new opportunities for members across both organisations. Together, they will:

  • connect leaders with emerging technologies that can improve care
  • support innovators to understand real-world operational challenges
  • deliver joint events, learning opportunities, and thought leadership
  • strengthen collaboration between providers, academia, and industry
  • promote best practice in digital transformation, workforce development, and service improvement

Jon Wilks, CEO of IHSCM, said: “We are delighted to partner with SEHTA. Their commitment to supporting innovation aligns strongly with our mission to strengthen leadership and improve care across the sector.”

Neil Roberts, Managing Director of SEHTA, said: “It’s an honour to be formally associated with IHSCM and to deepen the relationship between SEHTA and health care professionals in health and social care. I look forward to working with Jon and his Team.”
